Clean-Room Extension

A new extension of ZMNT (ZMNT – Module 2) is currently under construction. Module 2 will be spatially connected to Module 1 and will provide an additional clean-room of 1005 m2 with a maximum class 5 of particulate air cleanliness (as per DIN EN ISO 14644-1). Module 2 is part of the replacement building for the Walter-Schottky-Haus, which is home of the Institute of Materials in Electrical Engineering (Chair I and Chair II), the Institute of Semiconductor Electronics, the Institute of Integrated Photonics and the Teaching and Research Group “Compound Semiconductor Technology”. In addition to Module 2, the replacement builing will comprise physical and chemical labs, offices for the institutes mentioned above and seminar rooms for teaching.

The replacement building was designed by kadawittfeldarchitektur. The building principal is the Bau- und Liegenschaftsbetrieb Nordrhein-Westfalen (Niederlassung Aachen). Module 2 is planned by EUROLABORS in cooperation with Planungskontor für Anlagenbau Strickler.
